OMG BEST EPISODE THIS SEASON, Y/Y?


Adama: "I'm tired of this. Go to Lee, tell the Quorum that if they don't get their ships in line they can all share a blanket in Zarek's cell."
Blanket sharing metaphor brought on by quality time currently being had in the Roslin-Adama household, y/y?
Also I love Adama's "yeah ok you know what I am so tired of this shit, tell them all to sit down and shut the fuck up" attitude again, curtesy of his girlfriend.


I LOVE the slightly amused look on Tigh's face at seeing Laura. It's like he's thinking "Oh wow, I'd read the fic and seen teh banners but I never thought I'd actually get to see this scene" along with the rest of us.


Roslin's "I may be past the retirement age and bald due to cancer, but my sex life is still better than yours" smile.


Adama: You were saying, Saul...?
I... you know, at this point in the scene I was squeeing so loud I couldn't hear the characters. This entire episode can be summed up as "scenes you never thought you'd get to see on BSG". I mean it's ROSLIN AND ADAMA IN A RELATIONSHIP LIVING TOGETHER AND SAUL TIGH JUST CASUALLY STROLLING IN AND BEING ALL "OH UM SORRY I DIDN'T REALIZE" AND ADAMA BEING ALL "WHAT? IS THERE SOMETHING UNUSUAL HERE?" AND JUST OMFG!


"Given the fleet's desire to string up all cylon agents... you may not want me to be the one telling them we all gotta play nice now >_o"

OK so I'm on the side of those that say that Gaeta's stump or whatever will prove to be somehow significant over the next episodes. I don't know, WAAAY too many close up shots of it. I mean we already know he's crippled for god's sake.

Ok first of all clearly Adama's quarters are now located in DENIAL LAND, but also, who else is picturing Adama giving 13 year old Lee the "Oh it's fine, if you wanna go be a loser and never become a pilot, who am I to argue? I mean sure, I'll be asheamed of you for the rest of my life and wonder how the gods saw fit to curse me with a son like you, but hey, you do your thing sweetheart..."



Adama: I'll be home for supper.
Roslin: I'll have it ready.

Ok so in case any of y'all have been living under a rock - Laird is the guy whose family was shot dead in front of him by Cain's crew (was is actually Kendra who did it?)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE his character. Every time I need to remember why BSG rocks his presence alone does the trick. Because we get characters like THIS. Who are so, so fucked, and yet are so underplayed and quiet in the background, just carrying on and surviving because what else are you going to do?
And then he gets killed here, for no reason, just for doing his job and being in the way.


Zarek: "I happen to know a little something about revolutions Mister Gaeta."
I liked that Zarek said Laird won't be the last casualty. This shit is never bloodless.
I would like to remind everyone at this juncture that Ron Moore has stated, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, that not a single action Zarek has ever taken (including instituting The Circle in Collaborators) was motivated by anything but his personal gain. NADA. He has always had VERY good rhetoric however, so I can't blame Gaeta for not getting it 'till now, but seriously, never in my life am I ever gonna believe Zarek does anything out of any kind of idealogical sentiment.


OK so does anyone have a frakking explanation for the stupid timestamps? Seriously? I hope they become more meaningful in the next ep or something.

OK so either Lee is drunk or Jaime had a cold that day or SOMETHING but Lee slurs his words CONSTANTLY in this scene. O_o seriously, watch it. I was like "Lee bb since when do you show up to work DRUNK?!"


And on the third day he rose and was returned to his followers... I kind of love Zarek's Jesus-y entrance. BSG never does miss an oppostunity to play around with religious themes in the most entertaining way.

Seriously though, how is he and Tyrol still on Galactica? WHY? They don't have jobs, no one wants them there, they have no friends anymore and it's DANGEROUS. I can't imagine it's worse than being on the cylon ships.

Also, in case you're wondering (I KNOW YOU ARE OK) my opinion is that Seelix doesn't really believe a word of this - it's just her angle to get under Sam's skin and distract him, because it's the most personal thing she can throw at him.

So, I'm torn. I know Jane Espeson said that they decided Gaeta's bf to be Hoshi instead of Narcho at the last minute when writing the webisodes - but I don't know when "last minute" actually was. I'm wondering if they didn't know at this point who Gaeta's bf was going to be and set it up so that both Narcho and Hoshi could subtextually fit the bill.

In other news, I really, really love Zarek's tone of voice and delivery in this entire scene. It's just the right mix of fatherly and confident. Zarek really is a master at work when it comes to manipulation, I love watching him twisting Lee like a pretzel just to watch him work.


Zarek: Your dad resleased me because I am only a threat when you recognize a civillian authority. He's been doing that until now, because of Roslin, but now that she's abdicated the throne...
Lee: No, he wouldn't do that.
Zarek: Oh, really? Cos he's done it before.
THANK YOU. May I remind you Adama has had people at gun point and PERFECTLY willing to shoot them for whatever grand cause it was that week. For refrence see Dirty Hands and his willingness to shoot Tyrol's family just to get him to back down from a workers' strike.


Lee: I'm leaving for Galactica. To prove you wrong.
Here is why this whole storyline kind of makes me LOL. This entire conversation basically comes down to Lee STILL, AFTER ALL THIS TIME, AFTER HE IS THE DE FACTO PRESIDENT OF THE COLONIES, being so insecure about his relationship with his father that he will fall into the most basic trap ever and go out of his way every time.


I love that there's Connor right there to greet Lee with a punch to the gut, hahahaha.


Connor: Oh sure, we're confused, let's have a trial and sort it all out!

So, Helo's official post is now CAG. That is too messed up for words. There are 5 things the show has shown IN THESE LAST THREE EPISODES ALONE that would make Helo being CAG completely illogical. Sigh. I've given up on figuring out what Helo's actual job is, I simply accept is as "whatever we need it to be this week".

Not that I think Mr Serial Rapist wouldn't go there, but I just.. there's something off about the set up of this scene, to me. Helo being the one in charge, wearing the uniform (with Sharon in civvies) and being threatened by another guy that his wife will be violated... those aren't the gender dymanics I'm used to with Sharon and Helo, frankly. I don't know, it was sort of... almost too cliche.
I'm also curious, since in the aired version of Pegasus Sharon didn't get raped, but in the extended version she did, what the current BSG canon is.

I just wanna say, you know what this scene reminds me of? Tigh in the miniseries and S1. Turning from an old veteran back into pitbull. That is Kara in this scene, to a TEE.
You know what I wanna watch? I wanna watch the President Adama and Admiral Thrace show, OK? Maybe one day someone on that frakking ship learns the meaining of TRAINING YOUR REPLACEMENTS. Kara, with Adama's guidance and with Lee as president, would be PERFECT for the job in the same way that Lee, with Laura's coaching, would pull off his. Well, ok, maybe perfect is the wrong word, let's go with ENTERTAINING.

Was I the only one who laughed at that exchange? HAHAHA Apparently telling Tigh to stop swearing is "telling your staff to stand down".



Adama: You killed this boy. You swore an oath when you put on that uniform, to protect this ship and her crew.
Gaeta: And what about your oath?! What happened to your alligiance?! For 7 frakking years I have done my job and for WHAT? To take orders froma cylon? To let machines network our ship?
1. I still think Gaeta is being OOC in his confidence and calm during this exchange. Think of Gaeta, devastated and hesitant and confused when he snithced on Laura for rigging the elections, think of his completely torn down when he threatened Gaius with a gun. THAT was Felix Gaeta doing unpleasant, horrible things in the name of a greater truth he believed in - taking revenge, restoring order. This is... I don't really know who this is.
2. I have seen a lot of people say they stopped sympathizing with Gaeta when he "killed an innocent man" as Adama put in here in the CIC. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THAT POV COMES FROM considering Adama has been willing to shoot people more innocent that this DELIBERATELY whereas here Gaeta's MARINES accidentally shot the boy when he foolishly made the wrong move. I'm not taking sides (I don't think it's really ABOUT taking sides) but I certainly don't have a moral problem with Gaeta more than say with Adama and Roslin.


Adama: I want you all to understand, if you do this there will be no forgiveness, no amnesty. This boy died honoring his uniform, you will die for nothing.
See, this is classic Adama. Over emotional in situations like these. We all know he's gonna get over himself and compromise if circumstances permit and do whatever because lo, all his officers are his children, even the ones who fuck up (and who the hell is he to judge anyway). I think it's a mistake to consider Adama's words = the show's statement about the situation.


I know the cap is horrid, but that's Mr. Hoshi being led away at gun point :(((((((((((((((((((
I wonder why Felix felt he couldn't include him in the plot. Was it because Hoshi wouldn't have gone along with it (as a survivor of Cain's regime he has his own standards for "innapropriate behavior of senior officers") or because Gaeta honestly prefers to keep him in a cell, safe and sound, and not bring him into a move Gaeta knows to be dangerous at best.



Lee: MOMMY OMG ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?

Look here is the thing, I feel like this scene was cut short. It could only have ended two ways - Adam would either punch Starbuck or hug her. Maaaan I'm so tired of feeling shortchanged in the Kara/Bill relationship department.

I really love this. I really do. The Felix/Gaius thing is just... so potent. The entire duration of their relationship was so fucked up, and they have such ambigious feelings about each other - I mean they both obviously still CARE - ignoring the slash angle - Felix used to BELIEVE in Gaius, and Gaius perhaps despite himself got to know Felix and became fond of him. They're on such different paths, it's nice to see them acknowledge what's happened between them.
